Thermal decarboxylation of acidic cannabinoids in Cannabis species: identification of transformed cannabinoids by UHPLC-Q/TOF–MS

چکیده
Abstract Decarboxylation of cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) is an important step for efficient production the active pharmaceutical component cannabidiol (CBD) in Cannabis species. Acidic cannabinoids (ACBs) can be easily transformed into neutral via loss carbon dioxide when exposed to heat. During thermal process, several products including psychotropic ? 9 -tetrahydrocannabinol ( -THC) and its isomers were produced through decarboxylation, hydration, isomerization, oxidation, as identified by ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography quadrupole/time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UHPLC-Q/TOF MS). Their identification was carried out using authenticated standards interpreting MS/MS fragmentations. To investigate CBDA extracted isolated from inflorescence ultrasonication extraction two-step column chromatography. decarboxylation yield ACBs extract, samples examined over a range reaction temperatures (110–130 °C) times (5–60 min). Time profiles degradation CBD formation obtained functions temperature. In particular, most converted at 130 °C 20 min; this partially THC cyclization. addition isomers, cannabielsoin (CBEA) (CBE) also observed minor oxidative products. Based on structural profiling data, transformation pathways are plausibly suggested. The results will provide information cannabinoids, especially CBD, plants quality control -based cosmetic industries.

Cannabis and Cannabinoids (PDQ®)
Cannabinoids are a group of 21 carbon terpenophenolic compounds produced uniquely by Cannabis sativa and Cannabis indica species.[1,2] These plant-derived compounds may be referred to as phytocannabinoids. Although delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the primary psychoactive ingredient, other known compounds with biologic activity are cannabinol, cannabidiol, cannabichromene, cannabigerol, te...
متن کاملCannabis, cannabinoids, and health
Cannabis (also known as marijuana) is the most frequently used illicit psychoactive substance in the world. Though it was long considered to be a "soft" drug, studies have proven the harmful psychiatric and addictive effects associated with its use. A number of elements are responsible for the increased complications of cannabis use, including the increase in the potency of cannabis and an evol...
متن کاملCannabis, Cannabinoids and Tinnitus
It has been hypothesized that tinnitus is a form of sensory epilepsy, arising partly from neuronal hyperactivity in auditory regions of the brain such as the cochlear nucleus and inferior colliculus. Although there is currently no effective drug treatment for tinnitus, anti-epileptic drugs are used in some cases as a potential treatment option. There is increasing evidence to suggest that canna...
متن کاملCannabis, cannabinoids and reproduction.
In most countries Cannabis is the most widely used illegal drug. Its use during pregnancy in developed nations is estimated to be approximately 10%. Recent evidence suggests that the endogenous cannabinoid system, now consisting of two receptors and multiple endocannabinoid ligands, may also play an important role in the maintenance and regulation of early pregnancy and fertility. The purpose o...
